The New Forest, the UK's newest National Park, is a wonderful and unique
environment. Its 200 square miles of ancient
woodlands and open heath areas provide beauty and tranquility all year
round. The Forest is home to Nightjars, Dartford Warblers, Sand
Lizards and Hobbies. And there are 27 species of dragonflies and
damselflies. More than half of Britain's 2500 species of butterflies and
moths are found here.
'The Barn' is situated within five minutes easy walk of the
Forest and is on a cycle route for safe access to an endless variety of
rides. The aerial shot shows the forest area around
'The Barn'. Churchplace Inclosure (the nearest part of the Forest to the
house) is a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
